People are waiting for Tekken 8, a game loved by many fighters. We don’t know much about the background or cast of characters yet. However, before it comes out next year there is still a lot to find out regarding important parts of this game title in advance.

So, we now have information that Tekken 8 will be out on January 26, 2024. As we said about Tekken 8, we’re expecting this game to be good so if you want an exciting fighting time it would make sense for you to watch out.

Even though excited players can’t wait, Bandai Namco has been very calm about releasing information related to the new game. So, we still have a lot to learn from game videos and the list of characters. We compiled all that is known so far about Tekken 8’s release date.

  • What is it? The eighth main Tekken game and the 10th one in total of this series.
  • When can I play it? January 26, 2024
  • What can I use it on? PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and computer.
  • Who makes it? Bandai Namco

Tekken 8 Exact Release Date

The Tekken 8 game is set to be released on January 26, 2024. This has been confirmed by the trailer shown during a special event at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live ceremony on August 22.

When it comes to platforms, we can expect Tekken 8 to be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Also, it has been proven that Tekken 8 will work on all platforms. So no matter which console your friends or you use, they can join the fight together in this game.

With focus on competition and inspiration from team-led events like the Tekken World Tour or EVO, online parts of competitive games are now expected to help players better than they used to. That’s because Tekken 8 will also use rollback netcode, a big improvement over Tekken 7’s online play that should lead to much better connections when playing games with others.

Tekken 8 Trailers

The last video for Tekken 8 is all about the story part of the game, The Dark Awakens. Some movie animations introduce new characters we haven’t seen before. They include Jin and Jun talking to each other, which shows what the story is about. Moreover, we also see Kazuya Devil’s changes from Tekken 7.

You can find more Tekken 8 trailers on the Bandai Namco YouTube channel, along with gameplay videos for all announced characters. Character movie clips are being released often, so this page will change as new and returning fighters announce their comeback.

People want to know which old characters will be back in the latest Tekken game for the newest-style play. Many popular and important characters like Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima will be back, but we can also look forward to some new fighters with completely different ways of fighting.

Tekken 7 had different add-on characters that you could get along with the normal lineup. This looks like it will be changed in Tekken 8 because Leroy Smith is part of the game’s basic group from the beginning. That doesn’t mean DLC characters won’t come back in Tekken 8. It could be that new characters get the spots, not old ones we like and know well.

As we expect Jun Kazama to come back, it’s hard to know what new characters might join next. This only makes us more excited for surprises ahead. As we get closer to a release date, the list of players is starting to grow. Many people are already guessing who might show up as extra fighters even though nothing official suggests that more fighters will be added soon.

Tekken 8 Gameplay

Tekken 8 Gameplay

As you would expect from a big game like Tekken, there is going to be some aggression and competition shown in the way people play. This will also affect other parts of how things work within the game itself. But, Harada told IGN during a talk that the main word to explain what fighting system means is being bold or strong.

Even though fighting games already have a lot of aggression, Tekken 8 will be very quick and strong. This is because some new features are being added along with the return of characters that people like from past versions.

A big part of playing Tekken 8 has been inspired by the competition side of Tekken 7. It focuses mainly on how fans react from watching instead of just those who play it.

In the same interview, Harada said that “It’s not just important for a game to be fun when you play it. It has to look like something enjoyable so new people get interested and start playing.” Even though Tekken might have its toughest challenges in this version, even someone who never played before can still enjoy themselves without knowing anything about past games from the series.

During a 35-minute Q&A at the Tekken World Finals, Harada gave information about some new gameplay features that players can use in Tekken 8. He also talked about bringing back old favorites and how they have been made to fit with the stronger play style of targeting super faster enemies like never before.

The Heat System is a big new part for Tekken 8, working like rage arts and fury moves but again adding on the attack that Harada really wants to include. A blue line will be below the health bar of each player and grow during fighting. It turns purple when ready to use. Using your heat bar is similar to starting Rage Art or a new Heat Grabber. In this active time, about 10 seconds long you can use Heat Dashes and a big hit called Heat Smash to seriously hurt your rival. Also, every hit a player makes causes minor damage that can be changed into health to get better. At any time, the person playing can use their last Heat Bar to do a quick dash similar to what Rage Drives would.
